Thank you to all those who attended the network's Christmas party on the 4th December. What a great occasion of celebration ! A special thank you to all those who contributed to our charity drive for Barnardo's which raised over $800 in toys and cash for this very worthy cause at what is a difficult time of year for many people in our community. It was an outstanding effort, thank you again ! Thank you also to committee member Fran Nicholson for organising the charity drive and who also inspired the clients of Bonny Scents clinic to contribute to the cause. We must also acknowledge the other highlights of the celebration (apart from the fine food and sterling company of our fellow networkers). We were all I am sure keen to hear from Penrith Mayor Jim Aitken on Council's current plans for the city. I'm sure with the changes afoot, new opportunities may well present themselves to members. The other highlight without doubt was Gina Field of Nepean Regional Security who inspired us all with her entertaining tales of building a successful (and award winning !) local business. Gina is truly a great example of what can be achieved with grit, determination and a good sense of humour ! Thank you also to June and Jess of the Clown Company who donated their exceptional services for our party (including face painting and suspect balloon sculpting!) and to John Todd of the Penrith Business Advisory Service who also supported the function. Finally, thank you to all our members and friends who have made 2008 such a great success for our network. We look forward to an even more successul 2009 !
